Even before the time of modern man, humans began building their homes with eco-friendly materials. The simple caveman used well, caves. Native American Indians made use of tents made of simple material that was either animal skin or woven strands of fur. A traveler carrying a tent can make refuge by building a makeshift tent under the stars near a campfire. But those were the days back when advanced architecture graced human civilization.

For the passed thousand years up to the industrial age, all sorts materials have been used build homes. The human population boomed and so was the demand for these materials. The result was carnage on natural forests. Mountains were shaved clean of trees. Today, the growing concern for more environment friendly products and services has driven the architectural industrial to promote Eco-friendly homes.
It should not be surprising to stop by at hotels like Klima Hotel (Bella Vista) located in Italy, this subterranean hotel features 11 hostels, sitting comfortably on a rolling slope. Another application is the Scarlet Hotel located at Cornish coast in Norway, this structure complements with the surrounding area to give that recreational effect. Guests at the hotel can enjoy the view from the hotel. Elemental hotels also feature the same set of environment friendly features. They start of by featuring natural lighting and from this alone the hotel management can save a lot on power thus reducing hotel fees. They also use Volatile Organic Compounds on pain and carpets that help increase the quality of air inside the structure. Even the plumbing and electrical systems get a makeover for water and energy conservation, ELEMENT has really taken things to the next level.

 We are seeing the application of eco-friendly homes on hotels. Primary reason is the recreational effect it has on its guests. The need to get out of that concrete jungle of the city just needs to be fulfilled with something clean and different.
When it comes to ideas for eco-friendly homes, there is no doubt that there are thousands out there. Eco-friendly homes today are merely a touch of the past and a taste of the future. What we are seeing now are appetizers and the main course has not yet arrived. A quick search of these eco-friendly homes show how creative can people can be. With the continuing quest to find the perfect source of energy, powering eco-friendly homes may come in a single spark. Solar energy, geothermal and other eco-friendly power sources are riding along the clean and green bandwagon.
